Judith Joy Ross - Pinakothek der Moderne, Munich

The exhibition Re-visions at the Pinakothek der Moderne Munich presents the private collection of donor Ann Wilde to the public for the first time. Through 17 November 2019 a selection of photographs from the 1920s to today are on view including works by American photographer Judith Joy Ross.

Since the early 1980s, Judith Joy Ross (born 1946 in Hazleton, Pennsylvania) has produced a remarkable oeuvre focusing on sensitive, authentic portraits of people at the heart of society: school children and teachers, adolescents, soldiers, visitors at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C., or members of the U.S. Congress. Her portraits, which are often brought together in a series, offer both an aesthetic and empathic approach to photography.
